Monthly Dinner Reminder A friendly reminder to all who would like to catch up on ‘Porsche-talk’ with fellow members, why don’t you come down and join us at one of our monthly dinners? The Montreal dinner has moved to Tire-Bouchon Paris-Bistro in Centropolis, Laval. The restaurant has a tantalizing European menu and is reminiscent of a typical French bistro with matching ambiance. The Ottawa dinner remains at the Local Heroes Bar and Grill in Nepean. The Québec dinner changes monthly so for location addresses, please check the social calendar on the club’s website www.rennsport.ca Québec City Christmas Dinner After experiencing a gorgeous summer in 2010, it’s hard to believe that the winter months are coming up quickly. Yes, when we talk about winter we think about the holiday season as well. If you have a particular preference in a restaurant that you’d like to submit as a Christmas dinner location, please send an e-mail to either Andy or Bruno with the restaurant’s name and address. Montreal: Andy Evangelidis social@rennsport.ca or Ottawa: Bruno Bastien bruno@944s.ca Ottawa Wine Run On September 12th, Bruno Bastien organized a successful wine run with 13 participating Porsches to the Green Gables Winery in Oxford Station just outside Ottawa. A nice drive followed by lunch and tour of the winery took place. You can see photos of the event on the club’s website photo gallery at www.rennsport.ca Track DE Events As we’re writing this newsletter, the last track session of the season took place on September 24-26 at Calabogie. Some members have returned their track cars to the garage for hibernation and others continue to drive them until the fall season expires. All-in-all, 2010 was a great season for track. Thanks to all members for participating! Fall Leaves Road Rally Rennsport Region is organizing a road rally on October 23rd in St.Eustache. It will consist of a driver-navigator team that will follow pre-determined road directions. As in the past, our rally will take place on city roads with speed limits and is strictly meant to have loads of fun. This rally is not professional and is simply designed for novice rally-goers. The fall rally gives the participants a chance to test their skills at following written directions and have fun driving their Porsche; altogether enjoying the changing colours of the fall season. Registration deadline is set for October 19th so hurry and register for this event. For registration information, please visit the club’s website www.rennsport.ca. Info: Andy Evangelidis social@rennsport.ca RSR Website The Rennsport website has now, and more than ever, become a central hub for all our activities as well as a communication tool for our members. It is important that the website be utilized as much as possible by the members for any concern that you may have regarding track/social events, registration issues as well as other important information that is usually sought. A good idea is to save the RSR website’s address in your browser’s ‘Favorites’ column so that you can access it much easier and become accustomed to it’s use. Today, the ongoing discussion of environmental issues and the saving of our forestry gives us more of a reason to seek information ‘electronically’ in place of the usual ‘print’ versions. Michel Beaudoin (Communications Director) and Stéphane Sauvé (Webmaster) are doing a great job with our website and would be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
