OTT/GAT – Escapade (Ian)

Saturday, July 23 2022 , there will be a Coffee Run up the valley, on nice twisty roads.  We start from IKEA, Iris St by the Queensway, with a driver’s meeting at 7:30 sharp.

Emergency Note : Drivers coming from the East exit at Woodroffe Exit and turn right on Baseline to get to IKEA

The first stop is the Thruway Restaurant in Carleton Place for breakfast.  From there we wind through to Calabogie for the first bio break.  From there we head over towards Griffith, head to matawatchan and then on to McDonalds Corners.  Left in McDonalds Corners takes us over to Hopetown and on to Almonte.  I have planned a stop across the road from the High School in their parking lot, where the run will end.  

“To the traffic lights and left.  Continue straight to the 417 and take a right.onto it.

Patience will bring you to IKEA, which you managed to get to earlier in the morning.”

Google thinks it is a 4 hr run, so add in the breakfast and you could be back in Ottawa by 1pm.

Two things that us Coffee Run organizers fear most:

1 car breaks down on the morning or the canoe comes loose

2 We tell the Restaurant we expect 30 and 10 or 50 turn up, so I would appreciate a show of interest by Wednesday (20th) or Thursday (21st) indicating how many are in your party.

This is not a firm commitment, but lets me warn the Restaurant on the expected number, weather permitting.  They really appreciate it.
