Advanced Drivers Education (ADE) Insurance Information
Many of our members inquire as to ADE vehicle insurance requirements.
It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure they have appropriate coverage before participating in an Advanced Drivers Education (ADE) event.
ADEs are not lapping events but rather about learning to become a better driver.
When contacting your insurance provider to determine coverage, it is important to refer to Rennsport events as Advanced Drivers Education and NOT lapping or racing.
Rennsport ADEs have the following characteristics:
- Follow all PCA rules and minimum standards
- No Timing is permitted
- Passing is only permitted in designated areas on track and when manual passing signals (point byes) are given
- All cars must be safety inspected prior to events
- Drivers are encouraged to use Instructors throughout the event
There are two categories of Insurance coverage for ADEs.
- ADE/lapping/Racing coverage per event
- Daily driving insurance coverage that includes driver educational events.
Choosing an insurance broker with knowledge/expertise in ADEs is an important factor when choosing and confirming vehicle coverage for ADEs, as most Insurance carriers are unfamiliar with ADEs. Several insurance companies extend their daily street coverage for ADEs.
Insurance coverage is unique to each policy/individual and may affect coverage for ADEs.
The following Brokers have provided daily insurance coverage that extends to ADEs to several of our members and have demonstrated expertise in ADE insurance coverage.
